Trinity School invites you to come and enjoy this one-woman play based on the life of Dame Julian of Norwich. This drama of the 14th century English mystic gives a strong message of hope in the confused and desperate world of medieval England. Based on Julian's writings, the play offers a historical and personal look at the woman whose works of theology are still read today. Julian often recorded the visions and revelations that appeared to her in her lifetime. In her life as an anchoress she gave spiritual guidance to her Norwich neighbors against a backdrop of plague and grinding poverty. In Jay Janda's play, the actress depicts the spiritual journey of one of the most important figures in Christian history.
Although this play has been carefully crafted with stories, humor and exciting drama, the content is theological, expressing the private revelation of Julian of Norwich, and is meant for young adult and adult audiences.
This play was generously donated by Molly Delaney Druffner and all proceeds go to the Trinity School Tuitions Assistance Fund. Please come and enjoy this one-hour production with no intermission. A reception will follow the play.
Molly's performance of Julian of Norwich was superb!
